Indola Estates Ltd southern plantations (circa 1950’s).
Indola Estates Ltd was one of the largest public plantation companies in Sri Lanka. It was founded by Allan Paranavitana in 1927 and incorporated in 1951. It grew to include interests in tea, rubber, and coconut.

Today, Allan Paranavitana’s grandson Ajit Wijesinghe along with Australian businessman Paul Dwyer are directors of the Indola Group Pvt Ltd, (Indola Group) a Board Of Investment approved company in Sri Lanka. The Indola Group and its directors own 12 acres of freehold beach front land at Balapitiya. This is one of the largest privately owned beach front holdings between Bentota and Galle, in southern Sri Lanka.

The construction of the substructure was carried out by Sino Great Wall International Engineering from China who has experience in building 5–star hotels and apartments around the world, and that of the superstructure is being carried out by China State Construction Engineering Corporation. China State Construction has been doing business in over 100 countries and regions in the world, covering investment and development, construction engineering, as well as survey and design. In China, China State Construction has built over 90% of the skyscrapers over 300m, three-quarters of key airports, three-quarters of satellite launch bases, one-third of urban utility tunnels and half of nuclear power plants, and one out of every 25 Chinese lives in a house built by China State Construction.
The Ground breaking ceremony was held at an auspicious time with the blessing of Buddhist monks in attendance of Mr. Ajit Wijesinghe and Mr. Paul Dwyer, Directors of Indola Group and Mr. Hans Ruxue, Vice President and Mr. Billy Tang, Sri Lanka Branch General Manager from Sino Great Wall International Engineering Co, Ltd.”
